What we believe matters and what actually matters are hugely different

My mind has on average 60,000 thoughts a day and it wants me to take all of them seriously. It’s exhausting when I become engaged with my mindstreams, they drag me along and they are not creative, they are negative and assumption based, in fact, based on absolutely nothing other than its ramblings and the stories that it has created about me. All of them false. However, I choose to create them, believe them, and magnify them by adding to them constantly.

The mind patterns are repetitive and have been built up over a lifetime of falsehoods that I have chosen to believe about myself either created myself from negative thoughts or fueled by me believing what I think others think about me. This again is based on nothing other than my mind’s ramblings or something that another person’s mind has blurted out unconsciously and my mind has chosen to take seriously.

All these things we do to ourselves. None of it is done by others.

How do I change this?

I change it by realising that all these thoughts are just that, thoughts. Thoughts are temporary mental formations that will always be there and come constantly. The realisation many years ago that I am the observer of those thoughts and not those thoughts, I am the consciousness that is the witness of them and therefore I am not my mind and its thoughts. Of course, my mind is a part of me, like my ear or finger. But I am not the thoughts.

Once you realise that there is only one me, the soul, the ball of energy that my body faithfully takes on its journey, then you realise that none of these thoughts and stories matter. It only matters to be, as in to be my true essence, soul, and spirit and to live a life true to that in this moment creating experiences and sharing the gift that is uniquely mine.

I no longer want to be shackled by my thoughts and stories. I know what my gift is and my purpose and I want to be that, not my mind and its stories. Once I stop energising all those thoughts and stories my mind has space to help me manifest that gift and share it with the world.

My mind, like all of us, is the most amazing gift and the most amazing creative tool, that is what is there for, to help us, our true essence, soul, and being to manifest our gift for us and others.

Every one of us has a gift and our purpose is to discover it and give it to the world.

Am I 100% my true essence every day? Absolutely not, but I am on the path to achieving that. Will I achieve it in this lifetime? Maybe not, who knows, as the future does not exist beyond the ramblings of my mind. It doesn’t matter either, I’ll come back and continue the journey.

All that matters is this moment now, the eternal present moment where all life and experience exist. When we experience anything it is always now. If we stay in this ‘now’ moment we move beyond our thought and by simply being we are able to manifest our gift and create what we truly desire to create and experience.

That’s what matters not thousands of thoughts.

When we are in flow

When we get into our state of flow we are totally present in the moment, we are experiencing huge joy from the act of doing and we are not concerned with the outcome.

Flow is a state of pure consciousness where we are using the mind, which is the most amazing creative tool, to manifest what our soul desires. We are not energising our thought patterns, which normally take our consciousness away into an unconscious mind state where we are consumed by the outcomes and fears that they generate instead of the act of doing.

Being in flow is where we are engaged in deep work that comes from our very essence, it flows from our soul, it is joyful, creative, enriching and is giving our gift to the world.

When we are in our minds we are doing shallow, disjointed things that serve little purpose to us or the world and are part of the malaise of busyness that dominates.

We perceive that we are busy and yet it is soulless and without joy. We are denying ourselves, our souls, the opportunity to live the life we want.

When we go deep and become fully in this moment, then we are able to do the most amazing things and really connect with what matters. Deep work is something we are all capable of doing we just need to practice, like anything, and we just need to allow ourselves to go into that flow of energy and go with it, not be fearful of the outcome, just focused on the pure joy of creating something now.
