When something happens that either angers us or irritates or conflicts with our values and opinions, take a moment to observe the reaction within us. We normally react without pause.
However, the instance that we pause and just observe the reaction, we realise that we are not the reaction, and we can stop ourselves from becoming the reaction. The real us is not the reaction.
Most often we do not take that moment, worth a try, worth a pause.
When was the last time we actually sat by the fire, no devices, no distractions, and sat and watched the fire? Or it could be the sea, the leaves blowing across the park, the rain running down the window, observing an animal, sat in nature listening to a bird sing.
Then, while in that peaceful relaxed state have we taken time to observe our inner self? Simply feel our inner energy, just be in that moment.
