Stuff, who needs that shit?

Possession aren’t the route to happiness.

They are the way to burden and suffering. We attach ourselves to them and then we suffer and fear the loss of them.

Our ego uses them as a weapon of superiority.

We can step away from this burden at any point. It’s a choice we can all make. We can unlearn the conditioning of the consumer society.

Joy is a choice, it is the path, the route. It comes from our very essence and soul. However, it is clouded when we seek happiness from the external world.

When we allow joy to flow we realise there is no need to accumulate possessions. It is a never ending route to suffering within, as whatever we accumulate there can bc always be more or someone who has bigger or better stuff. We become dissatisfied in search for happiness in the hollowness of materials.

Can’t rely on things

There is nothing bad about enjoying things, things that bring us joy and make our moment better. However, if we attach something more to it, then we will always be left disappointed.

Our inner peace is a state that is not affected by anything external unless we choose it to be so.

When we get the new car, the bigger house, the bigger salary etc, if we have attached our fulfilment to reaching this goal and happiness, then there will always be something more and more and more that we can get and own.

If we are content and at peace, before the new ‘thing’ comes, then we are more than likely going to be after it has arrived, as the ‘thing’ is of no consequence to our state, again unless we choose it. If we are not content and not at peace, the same applies, we will not be content or at peace after whatever ‘thing’ arrives.

Just have joy as a permanent option within, silencing the mind and ego, and things can add to that joy, but like every form, they are temporary and not be relied upon for our happiness.
