Just across the road

Just across the road is a place that we want to be.

The road is busy, it looks like it’s dangerous, it might take a time to cross.

We search for the pedestrian crossing, we search for the safe route, even if that safe route is a long way up the road and far away from the place we want to be that is just opposite.

Simply stepping off the pavement and taking the plunge, the chance of a gap in the traffic, being nimble enough to make our way across is often too much for us.

Yet, we really want to be at that place jsut across the road.

The dilemma is risk or take your time for perceived safety.

Yes, you are more likely to get run over by just dashing across the road versus the pedestrian crossing.

However, risk is more likely to get you to where you want to go and risk is more exciting.

Certainty does not exist and is dull.

Hot, damn hot, followed by hot and sticky

Life like the weather is a conundrum.

We spend all year wishing for summer, for hot weather and we spend big sums of money on flying off to hot places on our holidays.

Yet a few days of heat and everyone is wanting it to be cooler.

Often in life we wish for something and when it comes we don’t like or want something else.

Being contrary is common. It comes from a habit and conditioning that gets us to seek and strive for what we don’t have.

Contented people seek for less and that’s bad for consumption, compliance and business.

Being happy with what we have removes the pressure for more and leads to contentment, meaning and joy.

By the way the weather is the weather so just be happy.
