What is being kind?

We all like to think we are kind.

Let’s ask ourselves a few simple questions.

If we open a door for someone are we upset if they don’t say thank you? If we give someone a gift are we disappointed if they don’t reciprocate? If we compliment someone are we upset if they don’t give us one back?

If we are answering ‘yes’ then that’s not kindness, more manipulation.

Kindness has nothing attached and we are doing to bring ourselves inner joy. We don’t need reward or recognition. If we seek recognition then it is ego.

Be and be kind because we can and it brings joy to ourselves and others without obligations or burdens.

Kindness is from the heart with no strings, anything else has an agenda and comes from the mind.

What we play is life

In the words of legendary jazz musician and singer Louis Armstrong, ‘What we play is life,’ meaning that life is a game, playtime, fun, and a time to create, experiment, and create experiences. Let this moment be as it is intended to be and allow ourselves to immerse totally in it.

Life is a single constantly changing and unfolding now moment. It is the moment in which everything occurs, and the universe always gives us what we need. Everything is as it is meant to be.

We can then go with this and create our art, music, dance, laughter and whatever wants to flow from our soul…let it out to play.

It is important to go with this flow of electricity, energy, and creative juice and not to resist it.

Play, play and play some more. Dance, dance and dance some more. Laugh, laugh and laugh again. Be light, do not be serious and live this moment always. Do not dwell in the past or imagine the future, these are all states of our unconscious mind. Be conscious and create…keep playing the tunes that are the essence of our soul and what makes life a magical experience.

What we play is life.
