When the end comes

When we reach the end of our journeys, when our life is coming to an end, will we worry about the bills, the noisy neighbour, the mess left in the kitchen, the train that’s late, the missed opportunity, the queue at the supermarket, the other motorist who cut in front?

The answer is likely to be ‘no’.

If we accept that our death is inevitable, then we can stop worrying about these things now. 99.99% of our worries are trivial and simply a future mind projection inside our head, that’s why we cannot deal with them as they are psychological and not a real present moment threat.

We can choose to stop resisting what is, we can choose to surrender to the situations in life and to stop labelling them as a problem, that can lead to peace now, to less negativity. We can choose to stop identifying ourselves with a future projection of our mind, as anything that happens now we can deal with as a situation, anything in the projected future we cannot, as it has, and will, never happen.

This can enable us to give all our attention and focus to the things that really matter now, like living our real life in this moment, instead of waiting our entire life until our death to stop worrying.

In the search for future salvation

Our constant search for future salvation and hope is constructed by our mind’s projection of the future that is better than the life we have now.

We may be discontented with our current life situation, most humans are. We seek solace in our mind’s projections of a future that is bright and what we will achieve to get to that place.

It’s an illusion, as the future is simply a mental construct in our mind, it is not a real thing, it does not exist. Each and every one of the 7 billion plus people on the planet constructs a future in their minds, none will be correct as it is not possible to be.

What happens though, is we are never really present for long in our current life, in fact, our only real life, so we fail to notice and appreciate what we already have. We are too busy fantasising about this marvellous future life we are going to live.

Stop looking for to the future for a fake salvation, we do not need it, we have all we already need right now to live a life that is meaningful, joyful and purpose-filled, it’s just we are too busy in our mind seeking solace to realise. We will always have all that we need if we live the real life that is now, this moment.
