We can not amend the past, or promise to be better in the future, as both the past and the future exist only in our minds and those of others. It is about what we choose to do now that counts.
Brene Brown brilliantly describes integrity as “choosing courage over comfort; it’s choosing what’s right over what’s fun, fast or easy; and it’s practising your values, not professing them”.
We can only practice integrity now, the only time we can ever do, change, amend, practice, act, say, feel or do anything. We can not practice it in the future or go back and do it in the past. Making amends is about doing it now. Building trust is about doing it now.
We make the choices in everything in our life. We need to be responsible and accountable for the outcomes of those choices. It all happens now.
