A wealth of…

It’s strange that we only look at wealth, and conversely poverty, in terms of money.

Why do we never measure or chase a wealth of love, a wealth of kindness, a wealth of joy, a wealth of peace, a wealth of consciousness? If you had a wealth of those things, then there would be no need to measure ourselves against each other, we’d realise we are all the same no matter what.

Why do we not reach out to people suffering from a poverty of kindness, love, joy, peace and so on? Why do we not fill our schools with learning about real wealth, instead of preparing people to earn money?

Funny how human society measures itself. The fact that we need to compare at all is strange.

Life without

I could take life without a spoon, an Xbox, a smartphone, the internet, yeah I really did say that as I am publishing another blog on it, I could always publish it old school as say a paper. Much of what the world holds up as important, I and you could do without. In fact, we’d be better off without.

I couldn’t live without art, music, people, nature, books, and most of all love. Imagine a world without any pictures or music. Even more, imagine a life without having love, there is no life. Yet the world is filled with hate and for example, the arts considered as a waste of time. Now, miraculously, healthcare specialists finally waking up to the benefits to our mental and physical health of being in nature, wow what a revelation eh!

Strange how much not having the internet seems to stress the whole world out more than say, not having time to appreciate art or being loving towards each other. Hate is the norm, but we could all do without it.
