Can’t rely on things

There is nothing bad about enjoying things, things that bring us joy and make our moment better. However, if we attach something more to it, then we will always be left disappointed.

Our inner peace is a state that is not affected by anything external unless we choose it to be so.

When we get the new car, the bigger house, the bigger salary etc, if we have attached our fulfilment to reaching this goal and happiness, then there will always be something more and more and more that we can get and own.

If we are content and at peace, before the new ‘thing’ comes, then we are more than likely going to be after it has arrived, as the ‘thing’ is of no consequence to our state, again unless we choose it. If we are not content and not at peace, the same applies, we will not be content or at peace after whatever ‘thing’ arrives.

Just have joy as a permanent option within, silencing the mind and ego, and things can add to that joy, but like every form, they are temporary and not be relied upon for our happiness.

No plan

It’s good to have times when there is no plan, no deadline, no destination, just being.

It is the mind that convinces us that we need to be busy. But busy doing what? Do we ever stop and think about the purpose of all the things that we are busy doing versus all the amazing things that happen around us that we are never aware of because we are too busy.

Busyness is not the answer to a fulfilled life. Being and being aware will always bring us calm, peace and joy. Our primary purpose is to be conscious, to experience, to see the amazing in each moment. Our secondary purpose could be to do something, but without our primary purpose fulfilled, we will remain busily unfulfilled.

Try having no plan.
