Sorry, I’m being me, before I explode

IMG_3658

Life can make us feel like we want to explode.

We are pressured to fit in to other people’s agendas or views, we feel we need to not ‘rock the boat’ or to say ‘yes’, when actually we know instinctively that something is not for us.

However, there is this pressure to not let others down, or to do something as it is ‘the right thing to do’.

When we get pressured to follow other people’s agendas, it never ends up well for either party.

We end up doing stuff reluctantly and then feel the need to be apologising when we deliver what we know to be sub-standard or below the par set by others.

We end up apologising all the time, we say sorry to others, sorry for not being ourselves!!

We need to learn to say ‘no’ and we need to learn to do what is right for us. Then we will be happy and better able to serve the people in our lives that matter. The people who will not judge us by their way of doing things, and will accept a ‘no’, knowing that you are being genuine.

Those who cannot accept you, are not the people we are looking for in life.

It is hard to learn, but once you master it, you will get more done for you. After all it is your life.

Where’s the fun in that?

We often hear the ‘wise’ question our proposed ventures with the ubiquitous question of the capitalist religion ‘where’s the money in that?’.

Maybe we could ask instead ‘where’s the fun in that?’

So many businesses exist for providing a fairly dull product or service to satisfy a need. Often served up to it’s customers in a standard and dull way. Joyless customers, served by equally joyless staff, purely working in a process driven manner to make money, to pay bills and exist.

Why do we not set out to build our businesses based on fun for all involved?

Fun for the employees, fun for the customers, fun for the owner. Where going to work and engaging with business can be a happy experience for all.

Probably because there is so little focus anywhere in life on the idea of enjoying life and making it fun. The focus is on making money at any means.

Who’s up for some fun?
