Stuck in our own heads

img_8703

Often in life without realising it we get stuck inside our own heads.

We get caught in a web of over-thinking.

We analyse everything and we allow our ‘chimp’ limbic brain to run riot and build a wall of excuses to hide behind.

We spend more energy on convincing ourselves not to do something than doing anything, it then becomes a habit.

Step away from it all, stop thinking, stop trying to make big decisions. Life is a series of regular small steps done as best we can.

Relax and let our life out of our heads into the world and see where it takes us.

Thinking is useful, over-thinking isn’t and letting life be is often the answer to getting unstuck.

In our head

What goes on inside our heads are mainly stories that we invent about life.

What a person might be doing or saying, particularly when we believe it is harmful to us, which is strangely always the default position in our thinking.

What others might say about how we look or the thing we have created.

It is all an invention that we make up.

Fears that we have, that’s the emotional fears, not the physical ones, are based on what we make up.

So why not invent a better or different story, it is our choice entirely.

Fear is the inspiration to make up stories, excuses, we fear what matters the most, and therefore changing the story we’re inventing removes the fear.
