Filters

When we make assumptions about situations or people, we create filters that block us from seeing situations and people in any other way than the filter we created about them.

This only then reinforces these falsehoods that we have created based on absolutely nothing other than our mind’s fantasies. The mind likes to have the beginning, middle and end of everything and when it only has bits of the story it fills in the gaps. However, it never fills the gaps with positive thoughts and assumptions, only fear-based negative assumptions.

The better option is to be curious and ask people what they mean or feel. Observe situations and resist the temptation to make judgements. Don’t fill in the blanks and stop the suffering. This removes the filters and then we can see situations and people as they are not as we have believed them to be.

Now

My writing today is a simple message to myself. Whatever the question is, the answer is always now, as is stay conscious and present in this moment now. Our life is always now. Yet we make the present moment an enemy and see it as a means to an end.

We see now as ordinary and boring as we want to fast forward to the next ‘big’ moment. However, when the so-called ‘big’ moment arrives, of course, it is now and we are already onto what is coming next so we are not even conscious or aware of this big moment.

Life for most of us is a denial of what is and a thought to what is next.

Now is our entire existence and we need to spend as much of our time as possible being present and enjoying our real life, as all things apart from this moment are temporary.
