Waiting on others

We can wait for others to care.

We can wait for others to call.

We can wait for others to message.

We can wait for others to do it for us.

We can wait for others to bring us joy.

We can wait for others to fix it.

We can wait for permission.

We can wait for others to notice us.

Waiting is painful for us and the others that we have chosen to become dependent on.

Or we can get on and do things that others will want to care about, will notice, and the same time build our own happiness, joy, fulfilment and give ourselves permission to live a care and guilt-free life that is focused on our own joy, happiness and dreams.

It’s easier short-term to wait and be dependent, but the longer you wait the greater the pain.

Our sunset

One day the sun will set on our journey.

There will not be another opportunity to say ‘I love you’, to say ‘sorry’, to tell someone how much they matter to you, to do the right thing, to speak up for what you care about, to start that project, to take the plunge into the unknown.

The trouble with waiting to say or do these things is that none of us knows when our sunset will be.
