Bubbles of intolerance

Our society is now made up of echo chambers of polarised opinions separated often behind screens, where people spout hate from their keyboards.

It’s about banning, ridiculing, boycotting, smearing, shaming, shouting over, and total intolerance of anything other than the views of our bubble. It’s all anti.

There is no conversation, no dialogue, no compromise.

The bubbles of intolerance will leave us all deaf to any other view, which is an increasingly dangerous position for the human race to be in. The lack of discussion breeds more hatred, more extreme views without any counter-balance to moderate them.

We all need to burst out of our own bubbles and connect with the opposite views and seek to understand, listen and without evaluation.

It’s hard for all of us, but it is the only way to stop extreme views on all sides and the only way to kill hatred, bring back civility and embrace the power that compromise will bring to all humans.

One human race will never become a reality all the time there is hate.

Being human

Being human takes a moment.

Being human takes thought.

Being human takes intention.

Being human means smiling not scowling.

Being human is to be civil.

Being human is to respect.

Being human means giving without any expectation.

Being human means giving others the time to be understood.

Being human means empathy, not sympathy.

Being human means listening, not fixing.

Being human means allowing others to choose for themselves.

Being human means compassion for others suffering and sharing the load.

Being human means seeing all other humans as equal without exception.

Being human means listening without evaluating.

Being human means loving not hating.

Being human means looking at how to make things even better not blaming.

Being human is to be vulnerable.

Being human is what we all could choose.

Being human isn’t easy but it is the gift we all have.

Being human is often hard to put into words.

Deep down we all know what being human is.
