Building something

If you want to build something, something that will last, something sustainable, meaningful, purposeful and soulfull, then there are two things to consider.

One, build it on values, a common cause and something that inspires purpose and connection.

Two, be patient and allow time for the community to bond together and share.

Successful enitities need communities of loyal advocates to connect with each other and to share their experiences of whatever you have started to build. They will help build a following for your cause.

Great works take time to create and time to be appreciated. You need a cause and a loyal following.

Don’t sacrifice what your dream really stands for in order to get short-term trinkets.

The costumes we wear

Yesterday we went to the temple at Uluwatu and watched an amazing show called the Fire Dance. All the main characters in the story being told wore different, very colourful and amazing costumes.

Without these costumes, sure the dance would have still been good, but it would not have been spectacular, the very best it could have been.

The costumes were the finishing touches, the things that made the characters come to life and it completely enriched the story being acted out.

In life and in business, it is the small finishing touches that we add to the things that make all the difference. It is what turns the good to outstanding, the ordinary to brilliant, it is what makes us remarkable or not.

It is often the smallest of things that make the biggest difference.
