I’m sitting on top of the world

Well on a large stone outside Lisbon Castle looking out over the city and the river.
It’s the day after 3 days of an intense and amazing OuiShare Summit.

I have connected with like minded people from all over the world who had gathered in Lisbon to make a difference, people who care, people who are willing to discuss deep topics that matter, people who want see systemic change, people who truly care about values and living by them.

I feel totally energised from this gathering and I feel optimistic that there is a force for change.

The one thing to stay mindful of is while sitting on top of the world, it is important for us all to see the other view, to see the other world, to see beyond our own views and to realise real change is a responsibility of each of us.

We could all choose to be the leader we want to see and to remove blame on others and show up and make our difference and to not tear down what is there but to create a different and inspiring alternative that others will love, adopt and evangelise to the rest of the human race.

Thank you OuiShare for this opportunity to be part of your community of change makers.

Connected by a piece of string

Today is day 2 of the OuiShare Summit in Lisbon and what I love about OuiShare gatherings is the collection of shared values and the collective inspiration I feel from being around enthusiastic, open and creative people.

Before we got started today we did a number of fun exercises where we stood and moved around the room, one of those was to use a line to show our masculinity or femininity and it was lovely to see nearly all gathered together in the middle, the feeling of being all part of the human race.

The best one for me was when we started with a ball of string and each person held the ball, introduced themselves, why they came and what they could offer. Then passed or in many cases threw badly across the room until all 80 people had spoken and each one of us where physically connected by the same ball of string.

This is the magic of coming together, this is the magic of being part of the human race that can not ever be replaced by Apps, smartphones or social media.

This is real connection, this is what matters.
