Fighting the waves

A couple of years ago I wrote about swimming against the tide, apart from Salmon who swim upstream to mate, there is no point to the battle.

King Canute famously sat on his throne at the water’s edge trying to prove his divine power by stopping the waves, of course, he failed.

We fight the ‘waves’ of life when instead we could surrender and allow life to take us. That does not mean resignation or giving up. It just means stopping the negativity that resistance and fighting cases.

True peace as a human comes from surrendering to life not from fighting things.

Things to let go

What if we made a list of all the things that we wanted to let go of?

Perhaps a list of past traumas, a list of people that have a negative impact on us, a list of bad habits, a list of demons in our heads.

Then perhaps we could then look at what emotions they cause us and why.

What if when then choose to accept these things? Accepting that they were in the past, accepting that we have these things inside us.

What if we choose to let them go and let them just dissolve inside us?

How different could our lives be?
