Write your own rules

fullsizerender-3

All too often in life, we say things like ‘I’m vegetarian and so I can’t eat fish’ or ‘I’m doing ‘xyz’ course/plan/program/diet (fill with whatever) so I must do ‘abc”. Who says so? The rule makers do.

Well who is to say the rule makers are right?

Sure rules have their place, after all, it would be difficult to play say football if you could just make it up as the teams played.

However, we can either live our lives by the rules of others or we can choose to write our own and modify them to suit. After all, we know ourselves better than anyone and we need to live according to what is good for us.

The best rule is not to have too many of them.

Why restrict ourselves for the sake of fitting in?

Being wrong

IMG_4642

Being wrong is a brave thing to admit to.

It takes courage.

Most of us have grown up in the ‘black and white’ world of being right is a win and being wrong is for losers.

It is almost like a badge of honour to win an argument, it is how our worthiness can be measured. It’s often how people feel superior to others.

To admit that you were wrong is hugely liberating, as you release the massive pressure attached to always having to be right in order to feel worthy.

It’s simply a question of unlearning in order to be free.
