Being different

Being authentically ourselves is like climbing a sheer cliff without ropes.

Fitting in is like shooting fish in a barrel.

Being different often means being alone.

Having a voice that is ours will never be easy, but if we want to set an example and be different we have to be prepared to be brave.

I don’t mean brave like when we have an injection or a cut, the bravery required to stand out is the deepest there is.

The deepest way to stand out is to stand up to the thoughts of our own minds, that is where the abyss of bravery is, to face our own thoughts.

That’s how we get to be different.

Changing your mind

Changing one’s mind about something was seen as weak. ‘We have to see it through no matter what’.

In fact, not being able to admit you may have been wrong, or not being able to learn from experience and change is weak.

Brave and vulnerable people change, the so-called ‘strong’ people foolishly stick to their guns.
