Stories

As adults or as children we love stories, one of the great things about being alive is being able to share and listen to stories. Life would be dull without them.

Yet as a business we talk about benefits, features and other things that stir very little within us.

Every business has a story, each of them is unique and if as a business we dare to tell them, there will be others who are interested. Not everyone, as we are not here for everyone. However, the ones who love what we love will be inspired and will become advocates of our business.

Stories make the world remarkable.

Not showing up

The problem with not showing up is that you spend your time and energy wondering what you could have achieved and then beating yourself up for not doing it. We build regret.

Showing up is very hard to do consistently enough to start making a difference, so we hide behind perfection, fear, and anything that will avoid us committing. We are programmed that way, avoid embarrassment, don’t expend energy we don’t need to, stay safe and hide in the shadows.

But not showing up over time is worse than the initial pain and effort it takes to build the habit of commitment. We have to get the ball rolling, it’s tough, but once we do keeping the momentum becomes easier over time. It is all about habit.

Not showing up never gets easier, it always becomes tougher and tougher to overcome the regrets and disappointment with ourselves.
