Save yourself

You are here to save yourself, to make your life complete, to save you from letting yourself down and failing to do the things that you are truly capable of.

There is not going to be a re-run, it is not like the Christmas repeats of ‘The Great Escape’ or ‘The Two Ronnies’, this is it, this is the real deal.

Each day is what we have, tomorrow is not certain and the past is gone, so what will we make of today? Or will we choose to find a reason to put something off until tomorrow? Yes, tomorrow, that day when all the perfect conditions will occur, that for some reason we need to start to do something that we want to.

There is never going to be that perfect day, when ‘this’ happens and if ‘that’ happens, then I’ll do x, and y, and Z.

Well, you won’t because all the things that you tell yourself that you need for something to happen, never will, otherwise, they would have already happened and you would have started the thing that you have been putting off until the perfect conditions turned up.

They are never going to because perfect does not exist, and even if it did, it would be boring and it would only last for a moment until a new level of perfection would arrive.

There is now, make it happen, do it, enjoy it, and it won’t be perfect, but it will be a million times better than regretting you never tried, than beating yourself up for putting something off, or the feeling that you are a failure because you do not achieve the things you want.

Life isn’t about perfect, it is about what makes you happy and what success looks like to you. Never let anyone, including your own voice, convince you otherwise.

Go save yourself from doubt, procrastination, from waiting to live and make your life happen with all its exciting imperfections.

Save yourself before it’s too late.

Don’t do today, what can be done tomorrow

We are taught to never put off, always do it today, get it done etc.

Procrastination is seen as a bad thing.

It is.

Well only for the things that matter.

So the question isn’t whether to procrastinate or not, it is what to procrastinate on. We have to accept that there is not enough time to do all the things that we want to do.

However, most of the success in anything actually comes from doing less, but the things we do, need to be the ones that are going to make the biggest difference.

So look at your list, and if it is not going to make a difference, then procrastinate on it, not just for a few days, but permanently. It’s easy to spot what to procrastinate on, if it has been on the list a while, and nothing good or bad has occurred from not doing, then probably best to put it off for good.

Then for ones that make a difference, the few tasks, then grade them from most important to least and then procrastinate on the least for a while, allowing time to get the really important tasks done.

This is a hard habit to build, but life is all about forming the hard to form habits, and sticking to them.

Put off the unimportant, forever.
