Perspective

IMG_3838

There is a default position whereby we feel like that only bad things happen to us and life isn’t fair.

That our life sucks and we don’t have what others have.

Comparisons with others only seem to go one way, why do we only seem to look for people ‘better off’ in our minds?

Surely, a sense of perspective would show us that there are people ‘better off’ and there are people who are suffering and a lot ‘worse off’ than us.

Better perhaps to stop comparing with other people at all.

Life teaches us that better or worse off are very subjective and in reality with the right perspective we can all have amazing lives, it’s just a question of your perspective and how you choose to see things.

There are many gifts you can give

For birthdays, Christmas, Easter, anniversaries, weddings, divorces, whatever occasion the consumer driven industrialised world has created for us to feel the need to give gifts, there are many things we can purchase, wrap and give to another.

However, the greatest gift we can give others is our time.

Time to listen.

Time to help.

Time to support.

Time to give a hug.

Whatever gift you can give that involves you giving your time to another human being is a gift that cannot be bought on Amazon. It leaves a memory, a legacy, a shared experience that will not collect dust on a shelf or end up in a landfill full of meaningless gifts that recipient didn’t need.

Give your time to others, it’s one of the best routes to true joy and happiness in our lives.
