Yesterday, my wife and I went into London to an event called Paint Jam.
The event was an art workshop, music, bar and with 30 or so other people, making it a social too.
The cool thing about it was not just the whole setting and idea, it was the connecting with others, collectively overcoming the fears that we all have surrounding things like art, especially doing it around others. Then the real surprise of what we were all able to create in a relatively short period of time.
The other thing that I found, it was really relaxing, it enabled you to switch off, listen to the music and just drift away with the painting.
The theme of the evening was abstract, which was good, as that meant nothing could be badly done, as no one can argue with abstract!!
But that is the thing with art, not just painting, but the ‘art’ of whatever we create in our lives. There is no right or wrong in any of it, and that is the lesson to be learnt.
The things that we create in life are for ourselves, and therefore it does not matter what others think. When we share it, that is the moment it is created, and there will always be others that love our creations.
Do not concern yourself with the ones who don’t, or what they think, it is what we think that matters.
