Write your own rules

fullsizerender-3

All too often in life, we say things like ‘I’m vegetarian and so I can’t eat fish’ or ‘I’m doing ‘xyz’ course/plan/program/diet (fill with whatever) so I must do ‘abc”. Who says so? The rule makers do.

Well who is to say the rule makers are right?

Sure rules have their place, after all, it would be difficult to play say football if you could just make it up as the teams played.

However, we can either live our lives by the rules of others or we can choose to write our own and modify them to suit. After all, we know ourselves better than anyone and we need to live according to what is good for us.

The best rule is not to have too many of them.

Why restrict ourselves for the sake of fitting in?

Life is a work of art

We are on a journey, not a sprint.

Be patient with your work of art that is you, craft every detail and take your time.

Realise that the best of us will come as long as we can avoid looking for shortcuts, certainty and an easy colour by numbers approach.

Take time to sculpt you and appreciate every part and love the imperfect bits as that’s what others will love.

Life is a work of art.
