Work in progress

I am a work in progress.

You are a work in progress.

That’s how we can choose to be for our entire lives.

There is never a finished product. Each stage we can learn, get even better, move up a level.

It’s a choice though.

Many times we can become comfortable, settled, think we are there. That’s OK too, there is nothing wrong with being comfortable.

However, often with staying still comes regret, comes disappointment.

The work in progress is best slow and steady, small incremental improvements, not giant leaps.

Finally, we can choose to enjoy the journey instead of settling for a particular destination or outcome.

Being a work in progress leaves us open, creative, resilient and genuine.

Embrace setbacks

We all get them.

Setbacks are something that we can be fearful of and make plans to avoid.

Yet setbacks are something you could choose to embrace and to look for more of.

If you never try anything, if you never look to improve, if you settle for safe, steady and average then you won’t get many setbacks.

You won’t get much else either.

Success in life comes from setbacks, it’s what creates learning, and the pain is what drives us to do better. Setbacks are part of the journey to fulfillment, meaning and creating our best.
