Mastering

We are conditioned by an achievement-based and goal-orientated society to be focusing on the future and the arrival at the end, with no time for the steps in between, we do not want to be where we are, we want to be at the moment of mastering.

Mastering something is all about patience, focus, being in the moment and enjoying each of the steps. It is about now and wanting to be where we are at this moment. We can only ever do something now in this moment and the joy of doing leads to the mastering.

It is not about the goal itself.

Life is the means, not the end.

Lastly, I have just updated my art gallery page, a selection of work over the last 6 years from beginner to enjoying the daily journey. If you have a moment take a look here The Art of Change

Practice again and again

If we keep practising and practising, one blog after another, one golf swing after another, one anything again and again. We get bolder, braver, more fearless.

Or we give up.

The best doesn’t come after just 10 tries, 20 tries, 100 tries, it might take a 1,000 or 10,000

We’ll get slowly and surely even better each time.

Practice alone isn’t enough, it is patience and practice that over time helps us reach the next level of even better. The thing is what else are you going to do with your time?

Better to keep practising than never getting better.
