Places we shut off

IMG_8124

In our heads, there are places we don’t want to go. Fears, pain, shame and hard lessons.

We shut off things that happened in our lives. We put up barriers and ‘keep out’ signs.

We believe by burying them so deep that they will go away. They will fix themselves.

In order to change and in order to let things go and to be able to forgive others and ourselves, we have to go there.

We have to take down the barriers, dig deep and explore it all. We have to become curious.

We can not be whole or reach our full potential as a person with areas that are closed off. By unlocking everything we will discover our real self. The person we truly are.

We are all that we are, not just the bits that are ‘comfortable’ to be with.

Why there are different pencils

On my desk, at home, there is not a single pen, as in a normal black ink pen.

I never write, well I do huge amounts of daily writing on my Chrome Book, but not on paper with a pen.

I do however have a range of different coloured fine tip pens, coloured pencils in a jar, acrylic paints, watercolour paints, pastels, and a range of 12 different lead pencils.

Life, like drawing, is better when not everything is the same shade.
