The wrong way round

IMG_6797

Often we stare at things from one direction only. We look at challenges or issues and we take the same one-dimensional approach to finding solutions. Often we don’t find the solution as it is unclear how to. Many times we keep repeating the same behaviour or pattern of actions.

What is often needed is to turn something upside down or inside out. Turn the telescope around and see what the different view looks like.

Just taking another perspective suddenly will lift the blur.

It’s like only looking in the rearview mirror for the answer in what has always been done, look forward and see what could be done that is new.

This is how we find out that the telescope has been the wrong way round and sometimes for a long time.

Who’s the fool?

Foolishness is all a question of opinion and perspective. What seems silly to one set of people, may well seem quite OK with another group.

The fact is intelligence or what is normal or mad, is an arbitrary measure. Who is to say what is foolish or which person is a fool?

Sanity, normality, intelligence, all these things that societies use to ensure compliance and mass conformity are just a question of which side of the fence you sit on.

The fool is perhaps the person who never questions this and accepts the rules of what defines the fool.

Maybe try foolish sometimes and see what the world looks like from the other end of the telescope.
