I’m sitting on top of the world

Well on a large stone outside Lisbon Castle looking out over the city and the river.
It’s the day after 3 days of an intense and amazing OuiShare Summit.

I have connected with like minded people from all over the world who had gathered in Lisbon to make a difference, people who care, people who are willing to discuss deep topics that matter, people who want see systemic change, people who truly care about values and living by them.

I feel totally energised from this gathering and I feel optimistic that there is a force for change.

The one thing to stay mindful of is while sitting on top of the world, it is important for us all to see the other view, to see the other world, to see beyond our own views and to realise real change is a responsibility of each of us.

We could all choose to be the leader we want to see and to remove blame on others and show up and make our difference and to not tear down what is there but to create a different and inspiring alternative that others will love, adopt and evangelise to the rest of the human race.

Thank you OuiShare for this opportunity to be part of your community of change makers.

Stop seeking power

We are taught to seek power, authority, to be in control, to rise to the top, to be in charge, to be tough, dominant, strong, be the boss.

Stop seeking that. The moment we want to control others we become weak and insecure.

Seek instead to lead, to inspire, to connect, to collaborate, to be cooperative, to compromise, to do things with others, to be inclusive, to be supportive.

Seek to be comfortable with ourselves and accept that worthiness does not come from control, we are all already worthy regardless of what we achieve.

Seek empathy, compassion, connection and vulnerability.

Why not be with others instead of controlling them?
