Tolerance

Tolerance allows us to be open to things.

However, what we choose to tolerate is our own personal choice and not to be dictated to us. It is subjective.

It is not about allowing everything.

It is not about not caring.

It is a personal choice that requires us to respect ourselves and to set boundaries with others.

It is not a limitless acceptance.

Polarisation

Worldviews have become so polarised into almost complete opposites with nothing in between.

The voice of the established order and those drastically opposed.

Neither hears each other, both are extreme.

What has been lost is any ability to discuss with people of opposing views without complete judgement of the other side.

Our lives are the poorer for it.

Having one voice and no tolerance of any other is a recipe for uncompromising authoritarianism and exploitation.
