Find a reason

img_8850

Often in life, we have developed this habit of finding reason’s not to do something.

This fear-driven mentality is part of the hard-wired protective mechanism that our limbic ‘chimp’ brain uses to stop us being exposed to risk.

What if we simply turned that on its head and searched for reasons to do something? Similar to catching people doing something right, instead of always trying to catch others doing something wrong.

Imagine the possibilities if we found a reason why we could do something.

Find a reason to do the things that matter in life and stop searching for reasons to hide.

After all, it is just a habit and what you choose to look for.

When or if this happens

When or if this happens, then I will do this.

When or if I have more time, I will start that new project.

When or if we have more money, we will start a family.

When or if that person leaves, I will be next for promotion.

When or if I lose weight, I will start to going running again.

When or if that person changes, then I will change too.

When or if rarely happens.

There will be always something to find as a reason to procrastinate. A replacement ‘when this happens’.

Start the next part of your journey now and if you are scared to start, that means you’re onto doing something that matters.

If it doesn’t work, try something else. We all recover from almost any outcome if it doesn’t go to plan.
