Distant

It is OK to be distant, to switch off, to be in our own thoughts.

We need space to shut down, to take things in, to analyse. We need our own time to just be us.

Often we deny ourselves this vital time as there is a pressure to always be connected, always to respond, always be doing, always be achieving, always be happy.

Disconnection time is as important as being connected.

A distant place to hide

Far away in the distance is another place.

Maybe the grass is greener there.

It’s an escape.

A place to run away to.

But what if you get there and the grass isn’t greener, it’s not an escape, it’s not better?

What if running away is just a way of hiding from the things we need to face?

Face whatever it is that you want to run from. It will take time, it will take being vulnerable, it will take the love and support of yourself. But the outcome will be worth it.

Then you’ll be able to visit a distant place to enjoy it, not to hide in it.
