What do you do?
It has to be one of the most used opening questions when meeting a new person but the answer will give you so little back.
After all, not many people answer I’m a tightrope walker, and even if they did, it will only enable us to judge if we’re going continue with small talk or move on.

If I happened to ask you what you do, I’d be curious to know exactly what you mean by ‘tight rope walker.’ I suspect your answer would be more fascinating than some people have volunteered. I say this because I usually don’t ask. I’d rather wait for someone to share. If you think this prevents people from engaging me in small talk on the fly…you’d be wrong. 🙂
