My 30 day challenges, day 27 – by Philip Dodson

Day 27, just three more to go to complete the 30 days. I was up at 5.45 as usual, did my exercises, weights and then went for a bike ride.

Later, this afternoon, I went for a walk around the village where I live, see today’s photo.

Today, I watched a video showing a graphical depiction of how many days we spend of our lives doing certain things, using one jelly bean to represent a day of our lives.

In the video it shows, among many stats, that on average we spend over 2,600 days wathcing TV, equivalent of over 8 years!!! So you often hear people say ‘I have no time’. Well there is always time in life to do what you want to do, you just have to want it enough to find the time. Even cutting half of the time you watch TV would give you 4 years extra time!!

What could you achieve in those 4 years? That’s 24 hours x 365 x 4 – you could do so much, that you currently don’t have time for.

So the relevance to the picture is, that often Mrs D & I say ‘we don’t have time to spend together’, so instead of watching TV late this afternoon, we went for a walk around the village and just chatted. Simple stuff, but much more enjoyable than just sitting watching TV.

So take a bit of the ‘TV’ time back and do things in life with the people who matter.
